FROM THE COMPUTER ROOM:

SirsiDynix is pleased to announce the release of Universal Admin 2014.08. There are feature additions, performance improvements, and bug fixes for BookMyne, eResource Central, and Universal Admin.

New Features for BookMyne
·        eRC Holds Actions and Views – When an eRC item is not available users can place a hold on it and return and access it when it becomes available through BookMyne. Other actions include, checking out and downloading available holds and canceling holds.
·        Public Appropriate Error Messages – Error messages from Symphony and Horizon are often written with staff members as the intended audience. We are now capturing unique error messages and their codes from the ILS’s and replacing them with more appropriate public facing messages. We’ve covered the most common error messages. As more unique error codes are discovered new public messages will be introduced to our system.
·        Profiles and Institution Context – BookMyne profiles now respect the institution context that you select in Universal Admin, so only the default settings, the current institution context, and that institution's children are now shown on the BookMyne Admin page. Users that only have privileges to administer a single institution will no longer see parent and sibling BookMyne profiles in their list. This feature also makes managing BookMyne profiles much easier for larger libraries and consortia.
Bug Fixes for eResource Central
·        Kindle Display Corrected for Customers in Canada – Previously, Kindle formats appeared in facets, hitlist displays, and detail displays for customers in Canada even though Kindle licensing is not currently available in Canada via OverDrive. Kindle availability has been removed from hitlist displays, detail displays, and facets.
·        eResource Central Title Counts/Labels Corrected in Enterprise Facets – Previously, title counts displayed incorrectly in Enterprise facets. Total counts were inaccurate and ‘Other’ format categories appeared. This has been corrected to display title counts and labels correctly.
·        Fix for Holds Displays when Baker & Taylor is Present – Previously, when a patron using My Account in Enterprise opened the Digital Holds in the Holds tab, the entire list would be empty if any Baker & Taylor items had been placed on hold. This has been fixed to display all held items in Digital Holds.
·        Auto-Sync Support for Title Removal – Previously, collections did not automatically synchronize when titles were removed from a vendor package. Support has been added to run autosyncs on collections when titles have been removed from a vendor package.
New Features for Universal Admin
·        Implement Net Amount and Bill Key in Transaction History – Net Amount and Fine Keys were added to the user interface in BLUEcloud Commerce. The Net Amount is the net amount for each transaction, as retrieved from ProPay.  The Fine Keys are the keys to the fines associated with each transaction in the ILS. Previously, in the user interface, the transaction history in BC Commerce did not show the net amount, which is the amount minus the transaction fees, or the Bill Key. This new feature will help reconcile transactions.
Bug Fixes for Universal Admin
·        Double Charge Issue in ProPay – Because of a change in the ProPay API, when a patron paid fines at the library with a card swipe, the charge was not recorded in Symphony. This has been fixed to record the transaction in Symphony.
