FROM THE COMPUTER ROOM:
iBistro – Sirsi has completed the installation of a new Apache (web software) and continues to work with us on the iBistro slowness. This Apache upgrade will give us better monitoring so that we can fix the response time issues with iBistro. Please continue to report slowdowns!
Workflows – Thank you for putting up with moments of slowness and dealing with the client upgrade. After the short unexpected disturbance to SIP, the patch cluster is behaving as well as could be expected. A solution to the Smartport problem that some of you experienced is being sought as of this writing.
Index rebuild – This will commence at 12:01 on Sunday night. Until approximately 11:00 am Sunday morning. Workflows, iBistro and SVA will be down while we rebuild and repair the indexes.
Local notice printing – this initiative is now in full swing as libraries try out the Sirsi Standard Notices and Sirsi Standard Bills in a new one page format.
LIBRARY CLOSING:

DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that in order to accommodate some new staff at the Ela Library I’ve scheduled a CCS Get Acquainted Tour for the last week of April? The tour will be conducted Monday, April 28, from 10:00-11:30AM and there’s plenty of room for other libraries to send visitors that day as well. The Get Acquainted Tours have been popular with the CCS community as a whole and the sessions are open to everyone in the consortium - even those who regularly attend Technical Groups meetings, standing committee meetings, or have been to the CCS offices on other business. If anyone from your library would like to join the tour on April 28th and learn a little about the history & structure of CCS, meet face-to-face with our full-time staff, and see our work environment (including the computer room), please feel free to sign up. To register yourself or someone from your library for the tour on the 28th, please send me their name(s) by April 25, 2008. Ken Victorson
