CCS News
APRIL 4, 2008
Here’s this week’s bulletin, before Roger, Bob, Linda, Ken and your humble editor run away to Detroit for the UUGI (Sirsi users) conference; we’ll be back Wednesday, April 9.
FROM THE COMPUTER ROOM:
Response time in iBistro – this is being worked on with Sirsi. At this time the iBistro software itself is the target of our investigation.
At the Help Desk – when speaking to the computer room, you may be connected with Willie Balitaan who is now working with us on a full-time basis as Customer Support Technician.
Sirsi Superconference room coverage– While we are away, Frank and Willie along with the part-time staff will be in the computer room while we are away.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know there’s a problem printing receipts for items checked-in/discharged using the Fine Free Discharge wizard? Although Fine Free Discharge (aka Clearcharge) was a much appreciated feature in the GEAC system, this ability is new in WorkFlows and is only available with the Java client. Unfortunately there’s a known issue with printing receipts when using this wizard. Although there are Properties settings available for setting up receipt printing with Fine Free Discharge, they don’t currently have an effect on the receipt printing process, and therefore receipt slips do not print. This situation has been reported by several libraries and, of course, we’ve reported it to Sirsi for a fix. Client Care has told us that a resolution will not be available until the next release/upgrade of WorkFlows. Since the problem is well known, if you encounter it while working with the Java client, you do not need to report it again the Computer Room. – Ken Victorson
