CCS News

AUGUST 5, 2011

FROM THE COMPUTER ROOM:
Amber light - We think that a disk drive was damaged as a result of our power situation. Diagnosing the problem with Sun and SirsiDynix has proved difficult, accidentally resulting in down time late Monday afternoon and causing residual problems with indexes and retrieval. All the index problems should be cleared up as of this writing. SD reprocessed records that were edited or added on Monday. We are still working on fixing the disk array as this is being written. The Sun engineer will be here at 7am on Friday morning. We will be working on the Disk Array between 7am and 8am. Workflows, SVA and BiblioCommons connectivity will be down tomorrow until approximately 8am (but BiblioCommons will be available for searching).

CANCELING AVAILABLE HOLDS IN BIBLIOCOMMONS:

BiblioCommons informs us that their build expected for release next week will be the end of our patrons’ unwanted ability to cancel available holds (holds already trapped and awaiting pickup).
