FROM THE COMPUTER ROOM:
SUNDAY MORNING MAINTENANCE ON FIREWALL (7:30-10) AND BIBLIOCOMMONS (7-11)!!
BiblioCommons – BiblioCommons tells us they will be down Sunday Sept 11, 2011 between 7am and 11am CENTRAL TIME to perform hardware upgrades, including new routers and switches. These upgrades are part of ongoing maintenance to allow for future growth and to improve reliability. We will be getting a message out about this on the BiblioCommons interface soon.
Firewall project update - In order to upgrade software in our existing firewall we will interrupt service to all applications intermittently between 7:30 am and 10am on Sunday morning September 11. (BiblioCommons is down that morning for other work). Here are other important dates for planning. On Wednesday Sept 21 at 6:30 am we plan to run a short test for connectivity and on Sept 28 at 6:30 am we plan to make the full switch to a new firewall. The plans will be reviewed with the Maintenance Coordinators at the meeting on Sept 20. Please watch your listservs for more information and you might want to schedule network staff and “early bird” tech services staff accordingly.
