HAPPY 20TH ANNIVERSARY TO CCS!
CCS officially became established as an Illinois Intergovernmental Instrumentality (okay, everyone wake up now) on February 29, 1988. It seems only right to celebrate two decades and to hope for an even brighter future. Thanks to all who have contributed and amde it possible!
FROM THE COMPUTER ROOM:
Printing Notices Locally – it is time to think about doing this and the Computer Room will be scheduling each library to work on this project. Information has already gone out to the read of circulation at each library.
iBistro Problems on Sunday – once again iBistro gave us problems on Sunday. The problems are originating from one of the libraries and we and they are working diligently on taking care of the situation.
CCS News moving to Blog format only – CCS News will only be available in PDF format for two more weeks. After that you will get a link to the blog only when we announce that CCS News has been posted. The last time we will post CCS News in PDF format will be March 6.
LIBRARY CLOSING:
Lake Villa will be closing Friday morning, February 29th for their annual Staff Development Day. The library will open to the public at 2:00 that day.
DID YOU KNOW?
Did you know that two more PAS Java training dates, as well as the first four ILL Java classes, have been added to the CCS training calendar? In addition to the four classes previously announced for PAS (March 4 & 6 at Northbrook and March 11 & 14 at Des Plaines) there well be two additional PAS sessions held in the Juvenile Services computer lab at the Ela Library. These sessions will be held in the morning and are set for Tuesday, April 1, at 9:30 AM and repeated on Thursday, April 3, at 9:30 AM. Each session at Ela will accommodate up to 11 participants and the following chart show the dates for all the currently available PAS Java training classes. There are still seats available for all six classes, but they’re filling up fast.
For the week of March 3 though 7:
At Northbrook - - Tuesday, March 4, 2008 from 1:30 to 4:30 PM
At Northbrook - - Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 1:30 to 4:30 PM
For the week of March 10 though 14:

Four ILL Java training classes have now been scheduled. The first two are at Northbrook the week of April 14 to 18 and the second two are at Des Plaines the week of April 21 to 25 (maybe there won’t be any more snow by then, but I wouldn’t bet the farm on it). Here’s the class schedule for the currently available ILL Java trainings:
NEW ILL CLASSES
For the week of April 14 through 18:
At Northbrook - - Tuesday, April 15, 2008 from 9:30 AM to noon
At Northbrook - - Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 9:30 AM to noon

If you or any of your staff would like to attend one of the above ILL or PAS Java classes, please contact me and provide the name and email address of the person to be registered. There are no limits on the number of people from each library that may attend a class (other than the capacity of the training space), so feel free to have more than one of your staff car pool to a session. – Ken Victorson
