FROM THE COMPUTER ROOM:
GOODBYE T1 LINES:
After careful monitoring and testing of our new ASE fiber line for its speed and stability, we have decided that it is safe and time to cancel our 3 T1 lines that have proudly and consistently served our bandwidth needs for so long. This will not affect any libraries’ connectivity to CCS since everything has been migrated over to the new ASE fiber line. We look forward to utilizing our new line in serving the libraries and expanding on its capabilities on our own network.
SYMPHONY ENHANCEMENTS:
The Symphony 3.4.1.5 enhancement that removes a DISCARD item but retains the bill was first deployed this month. On 11/5 we purged a significant amount of items (about 40,000) that prior to the enhancement could not be purged due to a bill being attached. Bills associated with a purged item will no longer display the item bar code. All other bill data, including the title, will display.
