FROM THE COMPUTER ROOM:
Changing domain names - A number of libraries have been changing domain names lately. If you are one of them, please let us know of your plans ahead of time. Include the new and old domain and also how long the old domain will be active. That way we can make changes in ample time to accommodate your cutover.

Word 2007 and WonderDesk – Here at CCS HQ we are slowly upgrading our machines to the new release of Word. However, at this time it would be great if you can send all attachments as .doc files instead of .docx files. Thanks.

Update incidents in WonderDesk – everyone is really good about referencing older incidents in WonderDesk. Thanks! That helps us to tie together communications. However, if you are able, please update the older incident with newer information – that way we see everything together in one document when we read it. If you need help on WonderDesk call us we can walk you through it!

Vacations – staff are taking vacations and enjoying some glorious weather. Planned absences of more than one day for Computer Room staff are posted in our NEWS page of WonderDesk. We will indicate any extended illnesses there too.

DIRECTORY UPDATE:
The 2009 CCS Directory is now posted on our new web site, www.ccslib.org.

OUR LATEST MELODRAMAS:
I just wanted to let you know what we’ve been doing to the CCS database during the slow dog days of August. The genre headings for “Melodrama” have been broken apart. There are now bib. records under the heading of “Television melodramas” as well as “Melodramas (Motion pictures)”. There are also a few under the old heading of “Melodrama”, but they discuss the subject matter in relationship with drama and are not a form of a motion picture or television program.
