MARCH 27, 2015

FROM THE COMPUTER ROOM:

RE-INDEXING ON EASTER:
The system will be offline, for Re-Indexing, from Midnight until noon on Sunday April 5th.  Enterprise will be available during this time but patrons will not be able to login as well as not have access to their account information or place holds.

COMING CHANGE TO HOLD RANGES:
On March 25 the Governing Board voted to flip unfilled local holds to System range after 30 days instead of the present 90 days, as of September 1.

ENTERPRISE NON-BAR CODE USER ID
:
By the end of April we will re-purpose the ALTID field in the Symphony user record to support a non-bar code user ID for Enterprise.  Existing data in ALTID will be moved to a new searchable field.  We will be providing much more information and working with the Circulation Technical Group on this through April.

AUTHORITIES NEWS:
Two files from Marcive were loaded into our system this week. One contained 2749 updated authority records and the other contained 337 new authority records  that were needed in our database, but were not available before this time.
